This time, I had lunch at "Ryukyu Ramen Apollo" on Gakuen Street in Urasoe. Speaking of delicious restaurants on Gakuen Street, the steamed meat bun specialty shop "TangTang" is famous, but this Apollo is also of a high level. I didn't know soy sauce ramen had so much depth!
There are so many varieties of soy sauce ramen alone!
The first thing you'll notice when you arrive at the store is the menu. They all have unique names: Kohaku, Akane, Jet Black, and Shinsekai. What's even more surprising is that all of the ramen is soy sauce flavored.
First, I ordered "Akane," which was described as the classic Chinese noodle dish, and the fragrant aroma of soy sauce wafted through the air. The soup is made by simmering Yanbaru local chicken and parent chicken at low temperature for a long time, and is combined with soy sauce from a long-established soy sauce manufacturer. The clear soup is very clean.
But it tasted even better than it looked. I was incredibly hungry that day and it was especially cold (Okinawa is cold in winter, after all), but even disregarding all of those reasons, it was still incredibly delicious. The depth of the soup that slowly spread in your mouth and the refined taste of the soy sauce. Amazing... I got goosebumps (sorry, I suddenly remembered Takahashi Ryosuke).
The slightly firm noodles were crisp and crisp, and the toppings of chicken, pork, three different types of roast pork, thick-sliced bamboo shoots, and mitsuba with a refreshing aftertaste were also delicious. This might be the kind of ramen you want to enjoy as a little reward to yourself for working hard in the morning.
"Shinsekai" is a mix of the best of five different flavors
My partner ordered the Shinsekai, an evolved soy sauce ramen made with a unique blend of five different types of soy sauce. The soup is darker than the Akane we had before, but it's not salty at all, and the mellowness of the soy sauce stands out with just one sip.
You can feel the great possibilities of soy sauce ramen at Shinsekai, or you can enjoy the individuality of each soy sauce at Akane, Kohaku, and Jet Black and find your favorite. In the end, they're all delicious, so you'll have a hard time deciding which one to order every time.
By the way, if you want to eat a little more with your ramen, we recommend the side dish, char siu rice bowl. The ramen comes with three kinds of finely chopped char siu, which have a lightly roasted savory aroma and a sweet and spicy sauce that goes perfectly with the ramen.
The restaurant has table seating, tatami seating, and counter seating, so it has an atmosphere that makes it easy to drop in even by yourself. How about trying Apollo's exquisite ramen, made with the ultimate soy sauce, for your lunch today?
